It looks like the time for them to construct a segment (guideway components between columns) is one per week.

The latest community update did indicate that the guideways will reach Gatineau Place by mid summer, so August. Essentially one year from when the first column was erected...
How soon before a NIMBY living along North Rd or Clarke Rd shows up on the newscast or in the papers b!tching that "nobody told us the new skytrain would be so high and close to my place... and now we've LOST OUR VIEW"

You are a little late. The Klahanie residents started whining and complaining many weeks ago..

Although to both sides credit, they worked together and figured out a compromise of sound and visual mitigation.

No THAT tall ... so far.

Add another 3 or 4M or so for the guideway on top of the finished columns, and then around 3M for the trains as they go by.

true, but people living and working along North Rd and Clarke Rd are going to be a lot closer to the tracks in the centre of these roads.

The people in the area has voiced their numerous complaints and whatever else throughout the years via the Burquitlam Community Association led by Don Violette. This neverending whining has been going on for the better part of the decade, and they even had the audacity to endorse the guided bus (which they called GLT) back in 2004. Thankfully, that proposal was squashed (I did my part...heh) and now that Skytrain is here, not much they can do about it at this point.

The pictures reminds me of when I was working on the Millennium line. I was out compaction testing in the middle of Lougheed and picked up samples from the precast yard back then.

No video update, but I did see a bunch more support structures in the White Spot parking lot today. I expect we'll see the next few sections of guideway go up in the next week.

I also noticed that on White Spot website, the North Road location is marked as being "temporarily closed": https://www.whitespot.ca/locations.htm

A few photos from today, taken by me.

The second guideway section is in place and the gantry is moving over to the next section. They took nine days to complete the second section by my count plus one day to move the gantry, two weeks total. It did seem like very little was does this past week so they probably can do one section per week.

Is this entire line going to be double tracked? If so are there any parts that will be single track? Obviously this has been covered at some point (and I am lazy so I didnt search too hard), so apologies for the silly questions.

Do we know how many gantries there will be at peak? From my reading this thread casually, I think that I count two at present.

There's only one... unless the Coquitlam side also has one that we haven't seen yet.

Granted, if that were true, it'd be a surprise... I think they can simply manage using one for both sections, with a little break in between to move things to the new location.

That is correct, there is only one gantry. The latest community update said the gantry will reach Gatineau Place by mid summer, then it will be disassembled then transfered to Coquitlam Central Station.

Thanks again for the pics, madog222!

Is it just the angle or is the guideway extremely high off the ground?

It is quite high, if I remember correctly all but the two on the right are at the same height.

Pic by a friend of mine.
Note the guys inside the section.

PS - This is why you allocate tunnelling risk to the private contractor:

Yep, that was me.

This guy mentions that it will reopen in March so I guess we have a rough timeline for the guideway through that curve there - https://twitter.com/Mikeysglock20/status/429410157978607616
