The One Pacific video is so pretentious. It doesn't suggest anything unique about the building other than that it will be targeting 25 to 35 year old wealthy singles who go on dates...
My wife and I saw this commercial on TV the other day; she said (in a sarcastic voice) "wow, look how hot and successful we would be if we bought there..."

There's a 2 storey "atrium" that should - hopefully - be an entrance to stores and restaurants in a 2 storey commercial podium.
Of course... there are condos on the next level up.
In retrospect, you'd think they would have done what Henderson did along Abbott St. with Paris Place at International Village
- step back the residential from the podium edge so that street noise, etc. do not impact the lowest units
(it also creates patios on the podium).

The One Pacific atrium looks more like a grand condo lobby to me than retail/commercial in the rendering. But like you, I do wish it is retail/food centre/market, etc, instead if just plain condo lobby.
They show the space as a commercial lobby with access to the upper level and separate glassed-off residential elevator lobbies - but whether that come to fruition is another story (i.e. will Concord be able to find suitable restaurant / retail tenants?).

Certainly an awkward location. I imagine the new casino construction will begin before this project is complete, so this should be a busy area for the next few years at least.
When is completion expected for this project? If this, the casino and the Colours project are all under construction at the same time, this will be a very busy area for the next few years.
Took some buyers through the sales-centre, completion is 2016 and when looking at floor-plans facing BC Place, they make no mention of the Entertainment Complex in between it and One Pacific which is odd as it will have a huge impact on privacy with the north facing units.
My clients found the marketing and pitch very pretentious, in the display suite the storage-flex space is filled with Gucci bags and shoes, not really sure who this appeals to anymore but my clients were totally turned off and bought in SE False Creek.
Wonder if the bags are real or if they're knockoffs. Perhaps if word gets out they might have some people visit the presentation centre and do a quick swap. You wouldn't believe what people steal from presentation centres.

A presentation sales centre lady told me once that the most common items missing are the little cars used for the building models. Kids can't resist those.
