Industrial neighbourhoods punch above their weight in urban-ness.

This one is a really nice angle, and a great looking pano.

This is quite possibly the best photo of Toronto I've ever seen. The composition is perfect. I could see this one winning in a photo competition.

If it had a better resolution, perhaps.

That's crazy. I also thought that shot looked a little like Dubai.

If Mississauga and Dubai have anything in common, it's that they are both cities where the car comes first.

Still though, I gotta give props to Mississauga for a pretty symmetrical and linear skyline.

The latest trend in suburban Vancouver is to redevelop shopping mall parking lots to create a much more urban vibe. I would assume the same plans are in the works for Miss. city centre?

That's exactly what's planned for Mississauga City Centre. I think it was either WhipperSnapper or InsertNameHere that posted the link to the plan a couple weeks ago, I couldn't find it though.

Yes, they do. But no timeframe on how long it's gonna take for it to begin. Well actually, they did build a town square in a former mall parking lot, and they've built some condos on the far side of the mall parking lot.

Actually, to be honest, yeah. There are lots of streets close to downtown that are distressingly non-city-ish. Like this:

Wesanford Place

I personally find Hamilton frustrating because the urban fabric is such a disappointing mix of half-measures and 1970s-style urban renewal. On one side of the street you swoon:

Duke Street: nice

And on the other you, well...you just don't:

Duke Street: blech

This dichotomy typifies just about every street in Hamilton: one-side-awesome versus the-other-side-🞵🞵🞵🞵. It bugs the hell out of me. The only real exception to the rule is James Street North, which is turning into a mini-Queen West.
