Fast forward to 2014, and we now have a staggering 30 structures that exceed 200m (built, under construction, approved). Out of those 30, 1 is in Montreal, 5 are in Calgary, and 24 are in Toronto. Here's the list:

MONTREAL:

-100 De La Gauchetiere (205m)

CALGARY:

-Brookfield Place (247m)
-The Bow (236m)
-Telus Sky (221m)
-Suncor Energy (215m)
-Eighth Ave Place (212m)

TORONTO:

-CN Tower (553m)
-First Canadian Place (298m)
-Trump Hotel & Tower (277m)
-Scotia Plaza (275m)
-Aura (273m)
-TD Canada Trust Tower (261m)
-One Bloor (257m)
-Commerce Court W (239m)
-Ice E (234m)
-Harbour Plaza E (233m)
-Ten York (224m)
-Harbour Plaza W (224m)
-TD Tower (223m)
-Eau Du Soleil (220m)
-Bay Adelaide W (218m)
-Shrangi-La (214m)
-Ritz Carlton (208m)
-Massey Tower (208m)
-Bay Wellington Tower (207m)
-The Icon (207m)
-L Tower (205m)
-Ice W (204m)
-Four Seasons (204m)
-88 Scott (204m)

Toronto has/will add 17 new 200m+ buildings to it's list since 2005, a massive accomplishment to say the least, and in the process completely changed the skyline of the city forever. Calgary will add another 4 200m+ buildings, 3 of which will be a new tallest for the city, almost unheard of in Western world building these days. By 2017/2018 Calgary will look totally different compared to 2005 shots. It will be fascinating to watch. While Montreal has been stuck at 1, the city is starting to build some nice 150m+ buildings which will add to their skyline. It would be nice to see them sneak another 200m+ onto this list.... maybe a residential/office combo? And I have a feeling that one day Edmonton and Vancouver will be on this list as well.
Vancouver has one building on the bubble, it's kinda just below and just above depending on how you measure the spire I believe. 197 meters / 200 meters..
