Its going to be 36 floors, it looks to be about 22-24 right now.

Yeah, that thing really has some mass when viewed from the north or south.

keep in mind This is the staging area for the work being done for the residential tower.

Did you see signs of digging or ground work? The latest word I heard is that work for the FMC tower would start next summer.

I posted some pictures today at http://buildingphilly.com/cira-south-evo-dec-20th/ and noticed the position that the crane was in might be around the final height of the building.

What do you think?

It looks like we're about level 22 with 11 to go?

Walked by for the first time since this thing passed street level. Man is it impressive in person that close up. Between this and FMC tower, these are going to be great additions.

Posted a few today at www.buildingphilly.com . Walked by the future FMC site and noticed what seemed to be window mock ups that must be for EVO (not for FMC tower it would seem). See for yourself.

Would any of you consider this area a Midtown in the urban-planning sense?

Definitely not. The 30th St. Station area is really more of a downtown extension. When all is said and done, Philadelphia's core will extend along the Market Street axis from 5th Street all the way west almost to 40th St.

The (also explosively growing) U Penn/CHoP hospital complex down in the old Civic Center area is a somewhat better "midtown" analogue (in the sense of a secondary center).
