at whoever thinks Procura will build that photoshopped proposal in Edmonton. Might as well just color in the Freedom tower for their next proposal for that site due next month. About as likely as that amateur developer from sherwood park developer building "the edmontonian."

So we are like making gold out of wool here, with nothing to back it up. So as predicted when the slowdown comes, I see the Alberta cities taking the lead for Canada.
It's a true paradigm shift, something like what happened to Montreal in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

Unless you predict Toronto slowing to Hamilton/Winnipeg levels, I don't think you should be too concerned about Edmonton.
Calgary, who knows? Everybody thought the city overbuilt last cycle with a massive amount of new commercial and residential inner-city supply, but here we are again. Basically deja-vu. If the city can maintain this huge amount of commercial construction, it'll likely spawn even more hotel and residential construction across the inner-city for the foreseeable future. The amount of infill developments (including the smaller projects not reported here) is ridiculous lately, and that's mainly because of the growing emphasize of living close to downtown where all these white color professionals work.
