Now everyone calls it "Rexall" anyway. It's complaining for the sake of complaining over something that won't change. Naming rights are huge, and they're always going to sound dumb. Rogers Coliseum is no different from Rogers Place, Dome, Centre, Building, etc.

maybe i hang around in the wrong circles but i don't know anyone that calls it "rexall". it's still "at the coliseum" or "at northlands" when it comes up on conversation.
i would predict that - other than in the media or the press where it may be mandated - the new downtown arena when it comes up in conversation will still be "at the arena" or "at the rink" more often that it will be "at rogers place".
that isn't to say it still won't have great value for rogers to have prominent signage on and in the building in addition to having their name and logo on every ticket for every event and in every event advertisement regardless of medium and on every program etc.
this is a good news story for rogers, for the oilers, for the arena, for downtown and for edmonton.
