Four or five floors. Once the pile driving is done, it will probably take 6 - 8 months to dig all the way down. We could see the foundation begin pouring by next summer, early fall at the latest I would guess. I'm not an expert though, these are just somewhat educated guesses based on past projects I've observed.

I see that it says 22 metres on the first page, just wondering if that was confirmed.

Ahhh I do see that! Sorry! Still, 22 meters isn't too deep. 6 - 8 months sounds reasonable. I hope the tower structure is steel.

IIRC it's been mentioned that it'll be similar to EAP - concrete core with steel floors

Can someone please tell me when the bay parade is to be shut down/closed for demo.? It seems a few stores are having sales now. I was thinking someone said January?

I was on a decade-long multi-Phase project where the old buildings on the Phase II site had rent hikes to clear out some tenants and then the vacated spaces were remodeled for use as construction site offices.
Cheaper than dropping ATCO trailers on the site for a few years.

I heard that the parkade under the first Brookfield tower has to open before demo can begin on the remainder of the Bay parkade. This is what the hold up in DP stage was about. The lack of parking, so it had to be done in two stages.

It's called the Bow Parkade, that's why I didn't understand at first. I thought at first you were talking about the archway at the Bay building being demolished. I almost —!

I was referring to GoVertical's comment, as he called it the Bay Parade at first. I almost died. If that archway ever comes down I will be devastated. It could certainly use a good powerwashing, new lights in the arches, and have its flooring redone, but it is still such a gem in this city. Calgary's Bay store is my favorite of all of their flagships in Canada.

Agree a classic! Now it will be across the street from Calgary's new tallest.

The plaza in front of Brookfield Place will really be something special. To the north you will have the ultra modern tapered glass of Brookfield Place, and to the south you will have the beautiful historic Hudson's Bay building with the esplanade (or whatever an archway is called... I guess archway) leading right up to the plaza.
