The SW Calgary Ring Road looks like it's finally on it's way:
http://www.transportation.alberta.ca/2480.htm

It's going to be huge, final plans (not opening day plans) shows the ring road over Fish Creek to be 17 lanes! 8 lanes northbound and 9 lanes southbound.

If it wasn't for the Yorkville Skyline in the background, you'd never know the Don Valley is actually in the city. Looks like it's the bush from this vantage point.

Nice. It's starting to look a freeway now. Since the girder screw-up I think they've been expediting other aspects of construction that were originally intended to be done later like paving, putting up the central median and landscaping.

Here's the latest video I made

I love the drive down the 406. There are so many great drives through the Niagara Peninsula and that's a good one.

The congestion where the QEW and 403 split in Burlington is not for lack of lane capacity... it's for lack of driver grey matter to anticipate that they need to be in the right lanes to take the 403 and the left lanes to take the QEW Niagara.

Thanks for sharing.

Another AWESOME job from Tigerwesti1

A-13 through Laval and Montreal - Route 138 over Pont Mercier.

Thats the road I used to take all the time when I visited my Aunt : St-eustache to Chateauguay VIA A13 & Mercier bridge

Enjoy the ride and don't forget HD!

^ Great video, thanks for posting

I love the ramp at the end of A-13 to A-20 East. There aren't too many situations where there is a 90 degree turn located a the end of a tunnel, that you get to fly through at near freeway speeds.

Calgary's Southeast Stoney Trail is now complete and opened to traffic. Current flow is about 30 000 cars per day on the new section, higher than expected

About 70% of the ring road is now complete, and the SW portion has been approved by both the city and the Tsuu Tina Nation.

I used to live in Hawkwood in the NW. Every time I went to the airport I was always in the predicament of taking County Hills blvd or Stoney Tr. I felt like when I was on Stoney if I went over 105km/h I would get bit by photo radar or the police doing radar patrol on an overpass. I always felt Country Hills was faster but then realized there just too many lights. Now that I'm back in Ontario, I feel like 115-120km/h on the highway is almost 'slow'. Anyways...glad to see that Stoney is 75% complete!! What will the routing be to finish the route?

Meh the only times I'm ever on the 400 its a parking lot. the 407 is where speeding is at, never any cops and a wide open highway 100% of the time. 140 is not unusual in the left lane, and thats on an urban highway. 120 is the slower speed typically. the odd time I use it I tend to do 125.

Ministry of Transportation in BC is undertaking a Speed Limit & Safety Review of many rural highways across the province. First initiative in Canada from what I'm aware. Ontario desperately need this as well:

The Ontario government and City of Ottawa will be studying a potential truck tunnel through the core to connect the 417 and Autoroute-5. This study follows the failure to develop consensus for a new bridge to the east from Aviation Parkway to Montée Paiement.
