Well, your friend will have to get off the train, walk a quarter mile, wait for a bus (30 min frequency) and then connect to the VelociRAFTA.

Should be a fun end to the train ride.

Especially in the winter.. It's 97 dollars round trip.. That's not horrible but still a little pricey for an intrastate train ride..

It's a few short blocks from the Amtrak station to the court house/city hall stop in Glenwood Springs. Not all VelociRFTA routes go through Glenwood but a fair amount of them do, and the rest stop/start at the South Glenwood BRT station.

Amtrak from Denver is scheduled to get into Glenwood Springs at 1:53 pm daily. Based on RFTA's Fall schedule there's an Aspen bound VelociRFTA which should get to the court house stop around 1:57, if your friend misses that there's a local valley bus to Aspen (upvalley) that should arrive around 2:09, another upvalley VelociRFTA should arrive around 2:17, followed by another upvalley VelociRFTA around 2:29, and then another local upvalley route should arrive at the courthouse around 2:39.

NOTE: Added 9 minutes to the time the buses leave the Glenwood Park and Ride in order to figure out the times they get to the courthouse stop which isn't listed in the schedule.

EDIT: It looks my info will be inaccurate in December. Although the frequency looks similar it looks like RFTA is slightly tweaking the schedule on thanksgiving, not sure how long their Fall Shoulder Season lasts though so I guess it could change again. Also I found this realtime map which is much more helpful than the RFTA PDFs for finding stops (BRT = Velocirfta and VAL = Valley local).

I am struck by the RTD release about the North Line as shown in the DP and the write up about the light rail extension in Aurora Sentinel how all relates to development.

If the system works, the growth is inevitable. The better the system works the more growth there will be.

Rather symptomatic about what is wrong with public transportation infrastructural growth in the US right now.

Yeah jeeze, talk about a hard-to-use system. I could not find useful information online.

But this looks right. The are no BRT features in central Glenmont, but the BRT buses run through the city as if they were locals. Just like RTD's B buses through central Boulder. It would be insane to just stop the buses at 27th Street.

I mean the transit options in that neighborhood are soooooo good. Plus, you can ride your bike ANYWHERE along the Cherry Creek Trail..... why would anyone ever need a car?

Transit is so convenient from that intersection. I would ditch my car and ride down the Cherry Creek Trail today. 20 MPH on the bike in 5 degree weather is BEAUTIFUL. Where are my flip-flops?

In all seriousness.. This really irritates me and I think it's a load of 🞵🞵🞵🞵 that developers are underutilizing lots by this much..

Also, cold weather biking isn't too horrid, assuming the ride is under 2 miles. We just don't have many Denverites living in places where a 2 mile commute is viable, though.

It was 15 friggin degrees below zero when I left this morning. Getting out of bed was horrid. Walking to the car was painful. Biking would have just been insane.
