Interesting! How cool would it be if they let local artists paint it up. They could change it every so often. Visitors who see it at the airport would be marveling at the funky painted plane.

This is a reflection of how busy ABIA might be if it were to service 16-17 million passengers per year.

ABIA currently averages roughly 25,000-26,000 passengers per day (enplaned + deplaned passengers).

Yep, Korean. Big blue 747 freighter. My friend even asked "Is that a Pepsi plane?" in reference to Korean's logo. So no mistaking it for Singapore. I know my aircraft/airlines.

I didn't see any Singapore aircraft. If it was there then it was elsewhere. This was on the cargo ramp along with an Atlas 747 and FedEx three holer.

My bad, then. A Singapore cargo B744 was on the ground when I drove by ABIA on Monday (around 1:30ish). At that time, there was an Atlas B744 and Singapore B744 in the cargo area and another Atlas B744 sitting in the hold area near the old South Terminal.

I would have liked to see a Korean B744 take-off from ABIA.

Were there this many different cargo carriers at last year's F1 event? I count: Saudi Arabian, Etihad, Korean, Singapore, British, Atlas, etc. which were utilized for flying in equipment for this year's race.

That makes sense, I saw the Korean around 4:30-5p. I guess the SQ plane left or moved soon after you saw it and the Atlas stuck around. Not sure when the Korean took off. I too would have loved to see that. What I really would have liked to see was the 747-8 that had visited.

Yeah. That British B788 was cool. However, it was pretty dark out on the cargo tarmac (it landed around 9 p.m.). I saw a lot of B788's while transferring (twice) at the Anchorage airport this past August. They are big SOBs.

748 (747-8)! The British 788 (787-8) will show its face next year!

Yah, never been but I know Anchorage is a great place to catch a lot of heavies. Mostly freighters.

I lived in Alaska for a long time and yah, ton of connecting flights and freighters that go through Anchorage.
