WOW!!! Fantastic shots!! Thanks!
Gonna be very exciting when the new cladding goes on the Howe Street facade, the views from Robson Square are going to change dramatically!

Looks great so far but does anyone else think it might have looked better without the fins? I guess that might be a bit boring. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how the marble/stone will look.

I think it would have looked boring (suburban office park-ish) without the fins.

That model has numerous inconsistencies with the video on the Cadillac Fairview website. For instance, the video clearly depicts a section of non-finned curtain wall on the north end of the Howe side. The video also shows a section of non-finned curtain wall on the north end of the Granville side. The design in the video is clearly superior to the one shown in the model. So, I hope the video is the correct version of the final design:

I thought I remembered someone saying the marble might be a bit more grey compared to whats shown in the models. Whether it is or not, I think it should look great.

Thanks.

The video seems to more closely resemble the as-built (and is dated October 2013, versus the model of Nov 2012)

The setback/terrace on Granville seems to be the as-built length, and the non-finned curtain wall on Granville appears to be the same colour as the projecting non-finned north side on Howe.

The bit that may be worrying in the Robson frontage shown on the video. On the 2nd floor area, I see spandrel near the corners and some blue reflective or vision glass flanking the Nordstrom blade sign. Looks rather patchy. It's at the 1:30 mark of the video.

The projecting part at Robson & Howe (conatining the restaurant) also looks to have spandrel)

At 1:34, they've suggested a corporate logo (rather than "PC") will go on the top corner.

Hopefully, the gray marble / stone won't look like the stone on the new Women's College Hospital in Toronto:

No way Nordstrom has the facade of their flagship Canadian store look like that.

have you seen a nordstrom store?

most are big beige boxes...

the seattle flagship is only nice because it took over the old fredrick & nelson dept store building - their previous seattle store was awful

Pics by me today:

Looks like a layer of clear-ish glass to enclose the balcony? (May just appear clear because of the sky behind)
I-beam stubs will likely hold the canopy steel (see last pic) - for a much shallower setback and canopy than previously proposed.

New steel at the Robson & Granville corner:

Looks like canopy steel lined up along the Granville side of the roof:

Nordstrom is the king of 'bland' in the states, so regardless of the true quality and colour or the stone and related finishes, it will be head and shoulder above most of their exteriors down south.

Most don't shop in a store because of the way it looks on the outside unless of course it looks like a giant urinal. RIP Sears/Eatons

Remember that Nordstrom will also be largely a windowless box. The main windows it will have will be for the restaurant.
It's the reduced size of the department store and the addition of the office space that are really opening up the building.

No problem.

PS - look at how light the spandrel on the TD Tower looks.
It's amazing how it's not normally so prevalent, the lighting makes a big difference.

Nordstroms should be sweating a bit. Target's Canadian expansion has been a total financial disaster thus far.
The figures for Q3 have posted a loss of $238 Million.

Target's and Nordstrom don't cater to the same client base. Target shopper is price driven and will see the 50 cent difference between Canada and the US (at least around here) and will opt for the US option OR target vs. walmart or superstore where Nordstrom/Saks etc will all cater to a customer who is after higher end products and a certain calibre of service. Price is not as big of an issue. If Nordstrom is able to install the service levels they have in the US in their Canadian Staff they will have a winner.

Look at whole foods, they are wildly successful up here.
