Here is the site plan (ground level) for Manulife. Tons of space there, so even if there isn't ground retail at the beginning, there is tons of opportunity to install it later, which has happened in many other projects. There will be one retail bay included, though it is on the western end of the site. The east side would be optimal for a large patio.

Here's a high res render of the top portion of Mark on 10th. I think this building has the potential to look really great, or really —, depending on execution. But this is Calgary, so I'm sure it will be pretty great

Here's a new project by Toronto's Mizrahi Developments for Ottawa's Wellington West neighbourhood. I believe it's still unnamed.

Those are sweet mid-rises. We need more of those, especially in the burbs.

Being the richest city in Canada is starting to pay big rewards for Calgary.

(Best reward no Blue Collar losers like Ford Nation! Lol!)

this is true. Nearly half of the Eastern side of the city is devoted to industrial factories of many types.

The biggest project I'm excited for which is almost unquestionably the biggest game-changer for the city is the Eau Claire redevelopment. I really hope it begins construction next fall as scheduled.

Agreed about the new Eau Claire proposal being the biggest game changer.

Calgary does tend to be viewed as mostly white collar, which a big portion of the population is, but Chad is right about the eastern part of the city. Foothills Industrial is massive.

Glad you don't mind re-posting them, 'cause I will too. Fantastic tower! Meanwhile Inavhoe Cambridge is maybe considering one day building a dull square box on de Maisonneuve. Fingers crossed.

I wish they didn't build the Hotel St-Martin there. It's going to make this entire block look quite odd.

They could have at least brought the tower up to the street. Now, not only are we going to keep the st-Martin's blind wall, but we're also losing what could have been a great piece in the canyon.

We're starting to see a similar pay off in the 2nd richest CMA in Canada: Edmonton.

I thought the glass box thing was cool 10 years ago, but it's just so tired and mind-numbingly boring now. In a way, I'm kind of glad that Montreal was spared from getting a lot of them, even if it means having the #4 skyline.

I like that Montreal one. It's nothing particularly special but it's pretty good filler.
