The Jays are already putting in grass- what more can be done with the Rogers Centre to make it more of a "true baseball stadium?"

Autostad (sp?) in Montreal, Exhibition in Toronto, and a little unsure on the last. Either Empire in Vancouver or maybe Hamilton when it first hosted the Empire Games?

I admit I'm not a huge baseball fan, but do people really give a crap about symmetrical vs. asymmetrical fields and how retired numbers are mounted on the stadium wall?!

I don't care about symmetrical fields, but I do care about ambience. Regarding football, does anyone remember when we went from 25 yard end zones to 20? I still think they're a touch too big. I don't want a US sized field, but would prefer 15 yard end zones and the field narrowed ever so slightly to 60 yards from 65.

I do like the larger Canadian field, but it's just too damn big. Few QBs even at the pro level can throw to the wide side of the field while throws to the end zone are often caught with no defender anywhere close. Tightening it up would make for a better game.

When it was built, BC Place couldn't fit the full endzones, so all were reduced.

An no... I like the large endzones, they are fully utilized with players catching touchdowns way in the corners, and I like the large field dimensions as they are. If a quarterback tries a long throw and doesn't have the arm-strength for it, the defence can take advantage.

They actually built BC Place too small to accommodate football? That's unfathomable.

@Many

I appreciate your feelings re Skydome. The good news is the Jays recognise its failings and are working towards some interesting solutions. I think people would be surprised what could be done to make Skydome seem a little more authentic.

If you haven't already, make a point of doing a ball park road trip. There are so many wonderful MLB and minor league parks out there - some even in this country!

Tightening it up would reduce the number of plays in the playbook which is never good. The closer a team gets to the endzone the less plays they can run.

Go to the USA and watch NFL then...

You're in Canada and claim to be a CFL fan, then enjoy the game the way it is.
