Logic is a beautiful thing! You're probably right. I do remember them saying it was redesigned to add 2 stories of condos on top, so that should point to the traditional triangular design. Thanks haha

Agriculture Place (Federal Crown Corporation Tower II) - 11 storeys - 42 meters - 15 000 sq. meters

Yeah, I pretty much don't have one negative thing to say about what's going on in St. John's right now. Oil boomin, the decisions of council are starting to go in the right direction, hopefully even toward looking at a tram system (fingers crossed!!) and nice towers are going up

WOW! St John, Is this serious? Like Mirvish-Gehry and the Edmontonian I struggle to believe it has a real chance of happening.. considering what little development the city has had over the last 30 years it seems odd to see something so large and, well, so nice. If it has an honest chance of happening, YAY! it'll be a great addition.

Saint John just finished building a 6 storey condo on their waterfront (quite nice too), a new downtown Courts Centre (made quite an impact on the skyline for being a courthouse) and a new cruise ship terminal all within the past year. They are also waiting on a proposal for the redevelopment of their coast guard lands to be redeveloped into a mixed-use 3 tower village development. I'd say this one is certainly possible.

Probably the nicest looking recent development I've seen among Canada's smaller (like, sub-Halifax sized) cities. That it's in Saint John of all places is a very pleasant surprise - lovely little city that could really benefit from some growth & development.

Oh I'm aware, I visit St. John quite frequently. The Condo is the only new building built recently that is privately funded, so I was simply wondering the financial viability of what appears to be a fairly high end condo in what is generally a fairly run down core.

FCC 2 doesn't stand for 'Federal Crown Corporation II'. It means 'Farm Credit Canada II' - it's the second office tower built primarily for that lender.

It's really a good thing we didn't pick up the West Indies Federation. On top of Saint John, Saint John's, Fort St. John, and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu we'd have added at least 3 more places called Saint John.
