This isn't new money. It's the money mentioned in the last budget and the tenders let last summer. All 3 underpasses ( Old Pennywell, collector, Redmonds) are well along in construction. As far as I can tell, this is the only work being done this year. They will not tender for the Blackmarsh or Topsail Rd overpasses until spring 2014 according to the release, so they won't be done till early 2015.
While the press release says completion in 2015, I think that's unlikely unless they spend a lot of money next year and in 2015. There's been no mention of scheduling for road pavement, guardrails, the collector road, tunnel at Brookfield Rd, etc etc.
I saw a city ad in the weekend paper for road re-alignment for Blackmarsh/Capt Whelan/Redmonds Rd. I wonder what that's for ?
