Agreed. The sooner those towers on st-Antoine rise the better. Barring any unforeseen incidents, the Bell centre should be obscured by towers on all sides in under 10 years.

It's nice to see under-reported Toronto projects on here. Also, Altoria is looking good!

The building on lakeshore isn't for the Pan Ams, It's the new streetcar maintenance yard.

That thing looks absolutely gigantic for a streetcar maintenance yard.

it will hold something like 140 streetcars out of the 208 new ones, which are 30 meters long... it will be huge. Toronto has a huge streetcar network. Not only are the new streetcars much larger, they will be closing one of the existing streetcar yards once the old CLRVs are phased out.

That looks sweet. Kind of like the view of the Marine Building down Hastings Street in Van.

Altoria will be the jewel in the crown of the "new" McGill street. An amazing transformation over the course of 10 years !

Exactly what I thought of too.

For a city its size and age, Montreal has a striking lack of terminated vistas. This will help change this defect, I think.

Yeah for sure. I wish Calgary had even just one leading up to a nice tall tower. Unfortunately our downtown is total "grid". I'm sure Altoria will turn out great.

Unfortunately, many such streets terminuses in Toronto are wasted opportunities (the lousy condo at the end of Adelaide when you're in the CBD looking east)
City Hall on Bay is one of the few good examples I can think of.

Vancouver's marine building will unarguably be most stunning high-density view terminus once the skinny glass office tower addition is complete.

Griffintown construction in full swing.

Nordelec construction in foreground, western edge of Montreal's downtown skyline in background (soon to be filled with a half-dozen new towers)

Adelaide the other way is a good terminus:

.

And then there's City Hall as you mentioned, York Street would be if the trees in front of Osgoode Hall were trimmed, University Ave, Avenue Road if the trees were trimmed as well, Spadina Avenue, Lake Shore Boulevard West, John Street (looks better in person), Bremner Boulevard, the most famous one on Front Street, The Esplanade (admittedly will look better after L Tower and Backstage are completed), Strachan (admittedly would have looked better if Trinity College was still there), etc. etc. I'm too lazy to look for more.

The problem with the western Adelaide terminus is that Adelaide is a one-way street going east. Nobody in a car ever sees it.
