^ pretty sure those images are describing the new finishes not bank machine and lottery info booth locations....

Looks like a pretty significant upgrade and update to me. It's clean and modern. Not sure what was expected.

This is what I don't get. The Shark Club windows appear to be opaque from the outside. Wasn't the whole idea of punching in windows to get cityplace to interact with the outside a bit?

the City Place renderings are fine, the real problem with the space is the exterior though so it's a bit disappointing.

Why show some retailers, both generic and specific, as being in place then leave out other key pieces like the bank machine and lottery booth that both tie up floor space. Leaving those pieces out make the place look at lot more open and spacious.

Maybe it's because they wanted the renovations to look open and spacious.

Getting rid of the water fountains makes me want to avoid this mall even more... as if my former employer (Shark Club) didnt do the job well enough. Apparently they're booming from what I've heard. And apparently, their VLT, food and booze revenues can't get me a taxi slip home at 3am...

But anywhom, they should keep the fountains. If not as they are right now, maybe modernize the SHIT out of it, maybe resize it too. But they should seriously keep them. It's a nice feature to hear water in that place. As for ground floor restaurants though, I'd love to see one! Cafe-style? fast food? Hot Dog stand?!

they are clearly design renderings meant to illustrate the new finishes, nothing more...i wouldn't read too much else into them.

getting rid of the 80's paint job will be a welcome change.

it was spectacular...i loved it....i snuck some photos but was asked not to publish them....the addition fills the south end and is the same height as the existing building...its all translucent, referencing ice....the ground floor is raised up to expose the glass storage vaults inside....its pretty dramatic.

the corner is curved and the south facade is kind of curtain like....a few big waves....it will be amazing if that is what they build...this and CMHR in the same city will be a good one two punch.

St. Andrews has a draft agreement with the City of Winnipeg for sewer service, one similar to the agreement the city signed with the RM of West St. Paul earlier this year. Lawyers for the city are currently reviewing the draft, Forfar said. The city is also negotiating a sewer-sharing agreement with the RM of Rosser.

Sewer pipes are just starting to be installed in West St. Paul, and people will likely see the installation work throughout the winter west of Main Street, which becomes Highway 9 outside the city. An explosion of development is expected to follow the new sewer line.

Are they planning to extend sewer service all the way to Lockport? That seems ridiculous (even more so than the ridiculousness of extending past the Perimeter).

I live in Riverbend and see the traffic coming in (one person per car unless it has kids in the back or is full of University students) every morning while I wait for the bus.

As for driving out to WSP, I don't own a car, so haven't done it recently, but am going to a wedding in St. Andrews this weekend, so should be able to see something.

I drive by there almost weekly in the summer to go to the Half Moon, I know what it looks like. I'm commenting on the sheer distance - that's almost 20km further from where sewer service currently ends.

Thanks for posting, Cyrodill.

The idea of infill development on the Grant Park Pavilion site is a good one - that is a rather large swath of land close to many central parts of the city, and if developing it means one less big-box cluster on the edge of town, then that's a plus. My main concern is that the layout is auto-centric to the max. This isn't the outer suburbs, so why build the complex as though it were?

Is it too much to ask for a modicum of walkability in a power centre, maybe like this?
