A couple of new DECL bike racks, well public, but DECL asked for them. Sadly because of the decorative brick sidewalk out front, these are as close as they can put them, but we will take em!

Spain’s debt-fuelled building boom was about to get crushed, triggering a deep recession that still grips the country and much of southern Europe five years later.

Architect Ignacio De Lorenzo, his wife Estrella Diez, who worked for an investment bank, and their young sons Rodrigo and Gonzalo had lived a comfortable middle-class life in Zaragoza, a city of roughly 800,000 people about 250 kilometres west of Barcelona.

But they could see the writing was on the wall. Their old life was coming to an end.

I usually do my best to avoid inflammatory language in a public forum, but Wildrose's position on this has me PISSED.

What does Danielle Smith propose? Nothing but "build a regional hospital instead". Excuse me? You still need the office space and letting this historical resource rot would have drastic effects on the legislature grounds - the province's primary civic quarter in a city lacking in architectural heritage. Playing the health/education card against the public shows a complete disregard for the importance of her job and a complete willingness to manipulate the public as her means.

I resent the media referring to this as simply an office building. The Federal Building is not a mere office building and would never have been renovated if that was the case. The connections to social services regarding this project are tenuous at their very best.

Our Official Opposition is utterly meaningless.

Probably wouldn't get mentioned by her if this building was in Calgary. But it's Edmonton after all.
