Here is an interview with Concord's vice-president of sales talking about the project. Among other things, he says that total build out of the area will take about 10 years, depending on market conditions:

I guess there's no rush seeing as the Concord property between Science World and the Plaza of Nations has been given an assessment value of $1.

He is talking about the sites referred to in the recent announcement and promotional video: "False Creek Central" (i.e., the sites west of BC Place: One Pacific, Colours, the casino/hotels, etc.).

Does anybody think they are going to live this superficial life because of the shallow promos like this?
They don't need shallow promos for that; people already live a superficial life in Vancouver.

Exactly.

The Old Navy Building (whose real name I keep forgetting) has lights at the edges to highlight the zigzags. This one should liven up the strip (and look better at night.
The neon / LEDs are much more noticeable in person. I think there may be some lighting along the edge of the awning as well.

Pics by me today:

Maybe they are colour programmable.

However, it is strange how the light tube seems to arbitrarily disappear in some spots. An unbroken line would underscore the angled glass more effectively.

It's a solid line in person. Maybe there's some sort of frequency aspect that isn't detectable by the naked eye.

The awnings are all lined with LED. The green trim around the doors and windows in the alcoves is lit as well.

It looks great at night, very bright and interesting, unlike the premature, doom-and-gloom "It's gonna be so boring," "Where are all the lights and screens?" comments.

The renders didn't depict the LED lighting. Nor did the building plans make any reference to LED lighting. How do you know the addition of LED lighting wasn't a response to public feedback and criticism of the building's lacklustre appearance in the renders published by the developer? Therefore, how do you know that the building's more colourful appearance is not owed precisely to the criticism voiced here and/or elsewhere?

Here are the published renders on which people based their criticisms:

That is possible. But I also think that the tone of this forum would improve were people to keep an open mind until a product is actually finished.

Rants over renders that don't reveal any signage or final detailing seem a bit misguided.

The green LED lights are already there for everyone to see. They do look somewhat cheap, like suspended green fluorescent tubes, and don't look like the night rendering at all.
