Think of a CRU as retail space under about 15,000sf. Anything larger is categorized as LNM, so sort of like a junoir anchor, tenants like Forever XXI, H&M, Zara etc...

Ya but visit shops at don mills mid winter and tell me how it looks... Canada's weather is not conducive to outdoor "lifestyle centres". I don't expect them to go away entirely but they will never catch on here like they did in the states for two main reasons.
1. In the US many of these malls thrive in cities with poor downtown high street retail. In Canada we are fortunate enough that most if not all of our cities have vibrant downtown shopping districts, providing much stiffer competition for lifestyle centres than seen in the south.
2. Weather. There is no way around it, the weather is a huge factor keeping people away from lifestyle centres. Most importantly any shopping centres key months are November and December, which happen to be 2 of the most unpleasant months to be outside in Canada, making it tough for retailers to really cash in on the christmas months.
