I'm rooting for this tower almost as much as i'm rooting for Tower Verre to get off the ground. Competition is gonna be tough but come on Citi, you got the iconic location, the stunning tower, all the transportation available, and even an army of skyscraper enthusiast who will forever be greatful to you. I'll even switch my account to you guys, how about that?

Send them to that directly. They can make it part of a new advertising campaign.

"Citibank, committed to rebuilding New York..."

I like it...

I'm optimistic but I'm still not going to burst with joy until I get official confirmation.

I seriously cannot wait for the WTC to be finished. It would be great to see 2 and 3 rise together. Hopefully they make the move here!

Great news. I hope Citi takes WTC 2, and completes the office portion.

It certainly seems to make a lot of sense for Citi.

Then, in terms of highrises, all we'll be waiting for is WTC 5, and the residential-hotel design.

I personally couldn't care less about 5. I've yet to see one realistic rendition of it that made me think it was anything but an after-thought. If they want a 5 for the complex, I think they should start over and come up with something a bit more.... dynamic and interesting.

This is great news about 2 though, undoubtedly the best tower of the complex.

What "rendition" are you even referring to for Tower 5? The property hasn't even been put on the market yet.

How can there be renderings when the site is still in Port Authority hands?

And it's hardly an "afterthought"; the sale of Tower 5 site helps fund WTC construction, and is an integral part of the master plan.

Rendering.... Rendition... It's called a typo.

So I'm imagining this picture? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:WTC_5.jpg Because this boring box is what I was referring to. Have the plans changed and has this been scrapped? If so, great.

And I didn't mean the existence of 5 as a counterweight to the other buildings on the site was an afterthought. I was obviously referring to the design, which I don't think much of in comparison to the other buildings on the site.

Doesn't hurt. Maybe they'll enjoy the positive e-mails.

This news has me very excited, though I'm prepared for them to possibly say no, which would be sad, but why would they. 2 WTC is such an amazing location!

Honestly, I'd just rather the entire WTC complex be completed sooner rather than later, and that Diamond-shaped tower has always been my favorite!

I don't think they'll be going to the Hudson Yards, so it's Downtown, one way or another. As the largest, newest space available, tower 2 should be the best choice. I'm excited it's a finalist at all.

This could be huge news! The proximity to Wall Street at 2WTC could be good for Citi too. There would be a lot of benefits to being at the new site, including transportation. Hopefully they say yes! Come on, Citigroup Tower!

Tower 2 and 3 rising along with Hudson Yards and all of the 57th St. projects. O dear our cameras are going to have a field day if it happens.

Hudson Yards do make some sense to Citi because the 7 train connects them with their building in LIC.

Decisions, decisions...
