Yeah I don't really know. It goes back to the whole conversation in the Winnipeg CMA Pop. thread about viability of projects (potash, oil, etc.). This is another one being propped up by you, the taxpayer. If private industry can make it work, then make it work. If they can't, why should government support it? Right?
Another developer walking all over the city begging for handouts. Who knows what slimey Katz and his EPC are doing. Really, who knows? I don't, you don't. Why would they ignore there own staffs recommendation? Might as well fire them and save the city some cash.
It's not like Winnipeg will cease to exist if these new homes don't get built. Go to Amber Trails if you want to live in the north west in a new home. There's new developments in every other corner of the city. Of course most are being propped in a similar fashion.
On a side note, whatever happened with Sam and his Arizona Sheegl house? There was no conflict of interest? What about the rest of it, got swept under the rug?
