Good news! That finally gets rid of the old Dotties/Lenny's "building". I was just over there and the stretch a block east of there was being cleared -- between Grant St & Oakland Ave. The old ice building is already gone

Sure wish someone would develop one of the corners of Memorial/Boulevard

I suppose the city can only absord so much at any given time but it would be awesome if intown 'hoods like this would start see quality Inman Park-type development.

Whats quality Inman Park-type development? Pricey homes and high end developments only a select demographic can afford? Food for thought.

Well the development that I was referencing (IPV) actually has a mixture of price points but in case you haven't noticed not everyone can afford to live in Va-Hi, Grant Park, etc anyway. Nice things come at a cost - that's just life.

My main point is that I would love to see development that is urban and blends in with those existing neighborhoods but I certainly would not want to limit new construction to what everyone can afford.

I took your original comment as implying that this development was not up to Inman Park "quality". If you're implying this development is "quality" and you would like to see more of it, I agree. I agree with your 1st paragraph as well, but its imperative that the city be home to all income levels if you / we want to have a vibrant city. By this I mean, some simple, maybe not high end developments, are needed. I thought you were implying "oh, this is good", but it's not "quality" like Inman Park.

Of course certain areas are going to be more exclusive, that's natural.

I went by the Yoo on the Park just now and asked if it was "just a demolish or if they were going to build something too." The guy said they were planning on building a high rise right there - "higher than the one right there" (pointing to the high rise to the immediate east of the property). Note he didn't actually answer the question directly and there was a lot of noise (they were demolishing, after all) so I wouldn't read too much into it.

The comments on the curbed article just linked indicate that they were just demolishing for now with no immediate plans to build.

So I'm unsure of what is going on.
