One thing quoted is that the PTS guys think that if Braley wants to sell within three years that precludes Braley from building a new stadium.

Cynamon mentions a previous postulation of mine as a possibility.

How possible is it for our well connected (politically) benefactor (Braley) to build a large multipurpose stadium at York (in addition to the track stadium)? York was very receptive to the Argos the last time and the government will shell out cash for two things (1) multi-event games ie Hamilton and (2) university facilities ie Winnipeg. We have the latter situation here.

There's a heap of basketball played, watched, attended in this country beyond the Raptors. People make it sound like that's the only team in Canada. They aren't even Canada's first pro basketball team. In many small communities in the Maritimes, the local basketball team is the biggest sports team in town.

Basketball is clearly not cultural significant in Quebec though. The sport is very weak there. Do Quebec grade schools even field teams?

I'm looking at the campus on Google Earth here and it's fairly ovious where a multi-purpose stadium should go - where the current football, rugby and soccer fields in the bottom right corner

Red X's are the new subway stops and the red square is where the track stadium is going

Certainly most high schools do, but the teams play in gyms in front of almost no spectators, and I suspect not even mom and dad show up for games (except maybe for the championship - and even then).

Interestingly enough, one of my kids got an invite for an elementary school basketball team this week, in spite of having no basketball experience whatsoever.

That would be pretty surprising to me if you needed experience to try out for an elementary school basketball team!

Wasn't the walkway in the design meant to bridge the arena and the LRT?

Because I can't think of a single meaningful town anywhere in the Maritimes that wouldn't also have either a hockey and/or football team of some sort.
