My mistake, I should have written "Quebec builder", not "montreal". I read Brigil, but my brain thought Broccolini - which is where the Montreal reference came from.
Also, as I wrote, this is simply a rumour I've heard (albeit from a fairly reliable source) but I don't believe any formal paperwork has been signed to confirm this purchase.
As to the reasoning behind this rumoured purchase, I would think sales has a BIG part to do with it. The exterior of the building was very nice, but the majority of the layouts were simply not very functional, which is probably why their sales weren't at their targeted level. When I read the ads about free parking being offered, I suspected that it would be only a matter of time until the site closed or someone else bought it - offering free parking (at $35,000) screams of desperation. I've seen $10k and $15k offered as a discount, but never $35k.

What happened actually to make Tega sell this property and cancel everything they had worked on up to now? Was it all just to get the zoning for the site before selling it to another developer? I mean... this seems like news to me that came out of no where.
