This would be for the Aqua Visa for which they have already presold units - http://kingswharf.ca/index.php/own/the-aqua-vista/

There is also building C before the signature tower begins.

The smaller buildings are very nice but at this point I only really care about the big one to be honest.

Plus, I have concerns about how things will work for all these new downtown Dartmouth residents when there really aren't many practical amenities like a simple grocery store within walking distance. The closest one would be No Frills near the Bridge Terminal, and most people aren't going to want to walk that far carrying groceries. Seems like people's lifestyle is going to have to be fairly car-based which kind of defeats the purpose of living downtown

Hopefully in a few years when more buildings are built and more people are living there, an urban-format grocery store will decide to move in. Might be a good spot for Halifax's third Pete's to move into. It would not be much fun for the people who bought in early though, but I believe they are buying into the future Kings Wharf lifestyle.

I think a grocery store is something that will come when the right residential density is in place - right now, no one is going to invest in it. King's Wharf (I suspect) will be the tipping point. Given the high street, it would be a good spot for an urban format Sobeys, like this one in Edmonton. It came about because of the large white towers being built directly north of the site ('drive' down 104 Street with streetview and you can see them).

I should point out that I stay at the Coast hotel on 105/Jasper all the time (if you streetview 'drive' down Jasper to the left - it's the white building with the @ looking symbol on it) and so when I go get snacks/water/pop - I go to sobeys all the time. Plus 104 Street is where the farmers market is held every Saturday (the street closes) and it's wonderful. But the sobeys is always busy...it's amazing how many people shop there and even though it's a smaller format, they still have a great selection of stuff.

I'd love to see a nice store built on the big parking lot beside Alderny (or one of the other ugly parking lots in downtown). There are so many gaping holes in the urban fabric that I hope to see filled but it doesn't seem like much is happening. In fact at this point there are so many gaps I wouldn't even call it an urban "fabric." More like urban fishing net.

It's actually the site of the "Alderney Five" project that heats and cools the main 5 buildings in downtown Dartmouth using the bedrock as geothermal storage. It also serves as the grounds for concerts when they use the stage

Allns confirmed that Aqua Vista is mostly pre-sold and that a crane will be up in a couple of weeks.

It would be great to see some pictures; it has been a while since there has been construction occurring at King's Wharf.

It appears as though piles have been driven. I wonder if this was done recently?
