Latest speculation is 998ft (just be sure they dont go over by a foot)

I am hopeful, lots of positive signs but we will see, first some sort of announcement then eventually steel rising, lots of things can happen before then

I am also very interested to hear what happens wth the 2300 arch lot - and still hold hope for the 22-23rd lot on Market at some point in the future.

Guess like all else time will tell

When we first met with the developer they had two towers planned. One approx 30+ floors and another approx 20+ floors. Their plans also included something similar to the Edgewater development with a parking garage disguised by rowhomes/townhomes. The developer said the plans were likely to change though. The developer also owns the air rights over the rail tracks. So your guess is as good as mine to the current plans

We are approaching the 3:00-3:30 window for bombshell announcements (that's when corporate emails, twitters, etc get going because that's when office workers are most distractable) so I have my fingers crossed. I'm really just reaching here, because I've been distracted by the hope of this announcement all day anyway.

Great news about 23rd and Arch, too.

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, Thomas L. Williams, chairman and chief executive officer of Universal Parks & Resorts (UPR) announced in a press conference that Comcast and NBC Universal have decided to relocate Universal Studios Florida® Theme Park to a new location in Philadelphia, PA. The new resort, which will be located on a plot of land at 18th and Arch streets in Philadelphia, right next to the world headquarters for Comcast.

In order to not confuse customers, and keep the brand recognition intact, the decision has been made to retain the name Universal Studios Florida® Theme Park, even though the new park will be located in a lot in Philadelphia. "We really didn't want to confuse customers any more than we had to, so we decided to keep the name the same," said Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts.

The intention is to build the first theme park that is actually inside of a 1,500 foot skyscraper. London-based Foster + Partners, the renownd firm which has previously designed Millennium Bridge, Wembley Stadium, France’s Millau Viaduct (the tallest bridge in the world), and other notable structures, has been engaged to do the design work for the revolutionary building. When it opens, one of the key attractions will be The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which has been wildly successful in the previous park location of Orlando, FL. The new Harry Potter park will be located on the 13th floor of the new building, which adds to the fun by making visitors figure out how to get there, because the 13th floor won't really exist... or will it?

The project is expected to bring 5,000 jobs to the Philadelphia area. Anticipated opening date will be summer of 2016.

Personally, I HOPE his rendering does not represent what comes to fruition. We really don't need 2 Grain Elevators.

Regarding the NBC move speculation. It isn't out of the ? as some would say. Moving the HQ and staff to Philly, for both economic and management reasons is not unprecedented. Look at Boeing, with World HQ in Chicago, rather than Seattle. Why? - because Chicago provided better incentives. Philly has another distinct reason for possible HQ relocation - Roberts. IMO, it could easily be rationalized that Philly has the HQ, NYC and LA retain their entertainment cores and executives. I mean a 1.25 hour Acela train ride - 30th Street to Manhattan is like an executive commute from the suburbs.

I wouldn't go that far. There is too much information buzzing about for something not to happen soon. It just didn't quite play out how you thought it would.

Sometimes though, it's good to build in a buffer when you report something since things can change. It's like the customer service philosophy -under promise and over deliver.

Is your source someone that you can approach to see if there was a change in plans or maybe that today was not a public announcement?

I'm pretty confident they aren't building a red box with a 150 foot question mark on the side of it.

Not 100% but my cred took a major hit. If this were a video game my life would be down to 25%. It'll take a while to rebuild, but one more misstep and I'm dead.

Already did. Was adamant about today. Doesn't know what happened.

Not true at all. I got confirmation directly from someone at LPT who claims something is certainly happening. Of course they couldn't give out any specific dates but if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have even thought to call him to check in and see what's going on.

These things take a long time. As someone else pointed out, Comcast Center was 5 years in the making. Comcast isn't just going to announce something then start building tomorrow.

Rumor has it that an expansion to the Comcast HQ is in the works: though Liberty Property Trust has responded with cool "no comments" to questions about the fate of 1800 Arch Street, the architect they've picked is now public knowledge: the Pritzker Prize winning London architects Foster + Partners.

It's common for this type of announcement to be delayed. Maybe a couple more details need to be ironed out.
