Funny you mention that. There was an article in the Herald today about how the Manning centre wants to transform municipal politics. The thing that bugs me most of this is there suggestion to privatize public transportation but not the roads. Here is the link to the article:

Nenshi, supporters launch social media offensive against Manning Centre

I think the Mayor does a great job and can't imagine anyone who would make a better mayor of Calgary, but this just seems so odd! Why would they go after Chris Harper of all people?? Were all the Ward 1 candidates similarly challenged?

Interesting things between James Maxim and Wayne Frisch over on Facebook/Twitter. Sounds like Maxim asked Frisch to drop out and support him in Ward 11.

Might be one of the more interesting races this fall. It's essentially the same as last time; Pincott, Maxim and Frisch.

I'm sensing some fence sitting from him, and Nenshi and others are prodding for some stances on things.

Plus I believe Nenshi also tweeted something along the lines of "this is just twitter stuff, wait until the real thing goes down when you are in council".

Not picking sides is not fence sitting in my books. I think I've been pretty direct when questions are asked of me for a lot longer than just the past six months. With more tweets than the mayor, 10,000 doors, facebook updates, and blog posts over the past four years it seems pretty impossible to state that I sit on the fence often.

My policy platform comes out this weekend which goes into specifics. There's a lot to like and I'm sure there will be a lot to criticize about it; but, at the end of the day I'm happy to defend my own vision, just as the Mayor and Preston should do of theirs.

Sometimes I'll agree with the Mayor, and sometimes I won't. Regardless I expect that I will need to earn the support of fellow Council members just as they should when they have ideas brought forward. That's a healthy thing in my opinion.

I will be voting and volunteering for Evan. His view best align with mine, and his people skills are far superior to Mar. I think it's time for change in my neighbourhood.

Wow, the level of stupid and cluelessness on municipal matters in that thread hurt my brain to read.

Most of them still think the Bow Flow is still going.

There is a problem with incumbents running sleeper campaigns lacking any voter mobilization strategy (data or GOTV). With lower turnout predicted, if a challenger runs a good campaign, they can defeat a long term incumbent.

Are your comments directed ar Marr or Farrell?

Was it not Marr that ousted Madeline-King using the same strategy that you described above?
