And what was the point of posting the images of what was to be? So far it looks like broken promises and lack of control by EIA. I suppose a team of "Exterior Decorators" can now come in and try to put some clothes and paint on the sterile bunker that it currently is. If they are good at perhaps they might be able to fix up a few buildings in town like Peregrine Point, Remand etc.

I think once again, it was the wrong developer. The guy who approved this development at EIA should be let go!

And remember folks, the developer had to sell one of their properties to free up cash to build this. That should have been a sign of things to come. Small developer with limited resources. All of a sudden building a higher end property.

I would be interested in knowing what EIA thinks. But then again, EIA was happy with having an ugly looking Courtyard in the first place before it became a botched Renaissance project, so they probably won't bother.

If I lived in Edmonton, I'd be tempted to go there with pictures of what you're getting versus Calgary's new airport hotel and go "scorched earth" on YEG.

Thanks for one more reason why so much of Edmonton looks like a semi-permanent ATCO trailer dumping ground.

I like an underdog. I'm hoping its Icelandair and that they're serving us because they see an egregiously underserved city sitting next to one of the world's largest oil reserves. If so, I hope they're successful and that they provide good connection times onward to other European hubs and various secondary cities.

Minister of Tourism, Parks and Recreation attending? Puzzling unless in-bound transit is a big focus...

But then if Icelandair...there was this announcement by Porter Airlines in July taping into Icelandair for interline service:

Effective immediately, passengers can book a single combined e-ticket for Porter Airlines and Icelandair flights, including the convenience of checking baggage through to the final destination. But Porter fly in/out of Toronto-City Airport (Billy Bishop) and Icelandair out of Pearson...wonder how they are moving baggage and passengers?
