I haven't seen/heard anything to say Empire won't run it still. I think if they do run it, it will eventually get bought out by Cineplex. Regardless, it'd actually be a great venue for the Animation Festival (especially if they partner with the Mayfair down the street).

I'm also not sure if anyone posted a link to this Leasing Report over the past year or not, but page 5 offered some insight on what OSEG was hoping would comprise the retail portion of Lansdowne.

But, that earlier leak of the retail map (via http://www.ottawalansdownepark.com) has been pretty accurate so far as to what will go in there. We'll likely find out more over the next couple months as they gear up for the Summer 2014 opening...

Canada Day wasn't that long ago. I like the inverse open pit mine they've got going at the east end of the stadium.

It's confirmed that Empire won't be there (wait and see if another Cineplex picks it up) so I wouldn't base anything off Trinity; they obviously don't update their site.

It's too bad nobody proposed a ski hill for the urban park. They've got one halfway built.

I'd only heard of this a little bit, so I was happy to stumble into a site specific to it.

Of course, I'm not serious about a track, but I did use it as an example against those who thought that we should have more respect for the history of the place (yet didn't want the stadium refurbished).

Much more so than an office building, eh?

And it's not like the area is crawling with them. I was really surprised to see it disappear off the plan.

I forgot about the office building. I guess they figured it would keep a consistent flow of people in the restaurants (at lunch hour) but I have my doubts they will even find a tenant for it. Wonder if it's too late to reconsider.

It's too late to reconsider. As I understand it, it was a condition of council's approval that the office building be built right away, and they've already started construction. I like the fact that office uses are included in the mix. At worst, they can put in the offices for the sports teams, and maybe other sports organizations. Or, it could always become a professional buidling for doctors, dentists etc., which isn't a bad thing for the neighbourhood.

On the other hand, it is not too late to reconsider the ski hill...

That was what I thought - offices for doctors, dentists, CAs, financial planners, lawyers, etc etc. The kind of folks who serve clients in the general vicinity.

I'm not sure of how the economics work in terms of projected rental revenues, but offices of professionals serving local clients would bring a nice influx of people during the week, many of whom can walk there.

And while they are at it, how about luring the passport office there? It strikes me as ridiculous that the only passport office in Ottawa is in a dingy, possibly dying suburban mall.

I fully back the ski hill. Mount Soil Remediation could host the Winter X-Games.

I also think the lack of a hotel is a real shame. One of the condo towers should have been a hotel. On the other hand, maybe it creates an opportunity for another developer. Many suspect that the Bank Street LCBO will disappear once Lansdowne is built and Isabella is expanded. That site adjacent to Central Park would make a great location for a boutique hotel.

Where is the office space at Lansdowne?
