I thought they were just pushed by Muchmusic to meet Cancon requirements, didn't think propl actually listened to them.

A couple songs I'm stoked to hear this summer (assuming Pretty Lights plays them)

It's ended up being a good thing that it rained that day. The crowd was pretty dense. The invite on FB had 1500 people going (I know that doesn't mean much) but the crowd was the right size for it to be enjoyable.

This is a good month for 90s hip hop. Ali Shaheed (Tribe Called Quest), Maseo (De La Soul), Talib Kweli, Common, and Souls of Mischief are all here or were just here.

With El-P and Killer Mike here last month, and Joey Bada$$ coming next month, it seems we're drawing more and more hip-hop artists to our city. I was recently talking to a friend about having a hip-hop festival Calgary, as it seems we have the appeal.

Everyone! Dont forget it is the "Chasing Summer" music festival this weekend with some of the worlds TOP acts in house music right now. Last night we went to Madeon at flames central and it went crazy in there!! This is going to be a good one. If anything just get on your bikes and take a cycle by or walk around the area. Have a good weekend!

I'll be there. Hope the weather holds/improves.

The lineup on Saturday is sick, sick, sick.

I'll be there too, but not until this evening, and apparently that means I'm going to miss out on Krewella! Those girls are hot!

The girls are hot, the guy not so much. Even by my metro standards.

There's also Afrikadey, Marda Gras, fringe Fest, Dragon boats, and Ride to conquer cancer this weekend if you are looking for something more family oriented and less "nnnns nnnns nnnns".

Hope everyone enjoys the Chasing Summer festival! Living above Bridgeland all I'll get to hear is the bass thumping with occasional shout outs by an MC.

and to the rest of ye, also have a good weekend.

Chasing Summer was an absolute delight.

Very well organized and thought out.

Mat Zo killed it on Saturday.

Tiesto is still the man.

I had an absolutely unreal time at Chasing Summer! Well done by the organizers. There was a great all around vibe, I didn't see a single fight there all weekend.

The highlights for me were Tritonal, Morgan Page, MS54, as well as Tiesto and A&B of course. Unfortunately I didn't get off work in time to see Krewella on Friday, I'm not a huge fan of their harder dubstep stuff but I like their vocals.

Here's hoping this becomes an annual event. I used to be jealous of the amount of EDM shows Edmonton would get, but Calgary is turning into Ibiza with all of the festivals this summer. Seemed like there were a ton of people who came in from Van, Edmonton and even from the States for this one.

I didn't go to Chasing Summer or Badlands or Mad Decent Block Party, but I'd just like to add that Fort Calgary > COP > Prairie Winds. - a great way to activate the East Village once there is more there.
