The new 111 South Main is a copy of 350 Mission street by skidmore owings and Merrill due to be finished 2015, its a 24-27 story 380 Ft tower (With parapet)

It is literally identical to 111 South Main LOL, I would think Hamilton Partners would get an original design for 250 Million $...Guess Not

C'mon. That building is pretty bad ass. And yes there are some variations but I still Like the design we are going to get. Look at the Downtown Library. Its practically the same as the one in Canada but Its still a cool building

TMAC, awesome update as usual. Very impressed with the grounds of the public safety building, it kind of extends the civic campus of the city/county buildings and the library and creates a very nice area.

Ha, ha. That 111 clone is funny. I actually like that one better than SLC's.

Demolition has begun on the houses on 600 West between North Temple and South Temple--as of yesterday 3 of the 6 houses are already rubble piles. A 115 unit apartment complex will go up there with a planned art mural on the side.

I posted back during the original unveiling that it looked like a copy of the San Francisco building. I don't mind, though, because I like the design.

Agreed, the intersection of 600 West and North Temple is becoming a major TOD.

Completed multi-family:

Bridges at Citifront
Citifront
City Station
Rendon Terrace Senior Housing

Planned multi-family:

West side of 600 West 115 units

East side of 600 West final phase of bridges in the open field between bridges and citifront probably about 100 units

UTA owned property just north of the viaduct on the east side of 600 east, I am sure there will be some mixed use there when UTA develops it--hopefully with a parking garage.

Stayinginformed, I think you may have your directions turned around but the project facts are correct and the project on the east side at 50 N. 600 W. just received their final approvals and have secured a building permit.

UTA has somebody working on the design of a project right now on that NE corner. What they would love to do is have a sidewalk that connects the development directly to the viaduct through the second or third floor over a skybridge of sorts. They have done that along the High Line in NYC. Sounds like it could be really cool.

Also there is renewed interest in the former Bio-Mat Building. I can't be too specific but developers have been asking questions.

Yeah, I mixed up the directions.

The UTA idea about the skybridge directly to the viaduct sounds cool if they do it right of course.

I have also heard rumblings about the former Bio-Mat building--great things for the area. North Temple will be completely developed between 600W and 700 W soon.

No one can convince me that Citifront and Bridges at Citifront are anything close to major density. But I hope the best for the neighborhood. Hopefully, in a few years, they'll be able to demolish Citifront and Bridges and actually build an urban residential development there.

Purely out of curiosity, but does anyone know how many projects are currently being worked on and how many are going to break ground in the next year?

It would be fun to see at least a rough number.

If they need to tear anything down, it is the Homeless shelter and build a new one further west. Maybe like 4th south and Redwood. Just free up that space. Actually...like l5 south and redwood by all that empty land. That is just really valuable land there
