Ahhh, that explains why Fox is under proposed then. And that some of the projects under proposed and rumoured should be moved up into the probably section.

K-Days may be draw thousands from out-of-town into Edmonton’s northeast but according to some that’s precisely where they stay.

One couple who came in from Warburg — about 100 km southwest — said they come to the fair as many times as they can, but you wouldn’t catch them going downtown.

“There’s not much reason to go down there. Costco is around the edges, West Edmonton Mall is easy to get to, what do you want to go downtown for?” said the eager K-Days visitor who preferred to remain nameless.

Interesting comments from Jim Taylor on Global news regarding the arena, he said to expect another 2-3 condos being announced this year and a commercial tower announcement in the next 2 weeks.

I don't suppose that most people that choose to live in a small town would want to venture Downtown. I don't know what you can do to draw them in excluding maybe large retail destinations...don't think Holt Renfrew or Nordstrom's I would say.

The only thing I can see guranteeing this demographic Downtown is...THE EDMONTON OILERS! (or a good baseball team, but that is Rossdale).

I could see 1 or 2 more moving forward into sales and tower D being announced.

In 2014 another condo and 1 more office.

Exciting times!!! This area plus the RAM is going to really change the vibrancy and density of the northern edge of downtown.

Got some preliminary information about the AB Cycle building property and the proposed Artists' flex space that's proposed... sounds like 2 levels, modular, as something of an "incubator" for local talent. Shoudl be a nice addition

Also, cleaning the Parkdale house out last night & took some stuff to the dump.. Beverly is actually looking pretty decent right now.. there are several retail streetfront developments on the go and a few more proposed.. that side of town has been neglected by the city for far too long, and it's looking much better

Healy site has been sold. Curious to see what happens and how quickly given how ripe that site is for rental/condo/retail, but given the complexities of it environmentally/historically etc.

It's very possible Norquest could be in for some big changes in terms of where or how it fits into the overall post-secondary picture. And not in a good way for Norquest.

The architect behind that must have lived a long portion of his life in Russia.. back when it was communist. Either that or they really trying to make it fit in with what's already in the area?
