I'll try to get some cloudy-day pics posted so forumers can see the siding in neutral light. The light and shadow was pretty harsh when I snapped the pic.

I snapped this shot last week a little later in the evening. I think this building is looking great, call me crazy. I don't see the issue with the metal siding and don't see the "shed" thing but, hey, different strokes

As much as I like the Janey, I don't understand why they are making this separate building look just like it. Variety in the streetscape is good, now it just makes the building look long and repetitive with its windows.

I dont like how it turns a blank wall to the streetcar. You have a captured audience, you should draw them in. Instead everything is turned to the high auto Everett street. Should really be common sense, design to the pedestrian and the pedestrians are at the streetcar stop. Instead, the old school car parking mentality seems to continue to permeate design thinking.

I too really like this building. The metal skin is metal, but it's not a "shed" as some have called it. The quality of materials is pretty high for this one, and the retail spaces below are going to be really nice. Huge fan.

I agree, but look at where the entrance would be on NW 11th. The building next door on the other half of the block is awful, and the one across the street is no beauty either. I can definitely see why they chose to make the entrance on Everett.

I also agree with pdxstreetcar in that it's a shame it's going to be more of the Janey. The Janey is fine, but diversity would be better, especially since we're talking about another stubby building. I might feel differently if the Janey II was going to be 12 to 24 stories.

Nice pictures. Great looking building. Has an incredible tectonic feel with the panels and modulation of windows. Look forward to seeing how the ground level shapes up.

Too bad, I like going to that cash & carry! I bet the folks in the Ramona are going to miss their (really cheap) grocery store across the street!
