I'm sorry to bring this up again, but I wanted to further comment on the station designs for the Evergreen Line. Station architecture is I think my favourite aspect of a new line, so I looked at the renders again closely and have formed some opinions.
Lougheed: I mentioned my comment on this earlier, but basically we are getting a watered down version of the original design. There are some interesting additional stairway and entrance canopies but the platform canopy itself appears to be white with blue glass, quite different from the dark grey of the rest of the station. The brochure says that this 'complements the open-air design of the existing station,' whatever that means.
Moody Centre: A cool, curvy, multi-layered wood design, though it has the 'thin' feel of the Richmond Canada Line Stations. I think this one will look great in the end. Also, it will be the first full-sized at-grade Skytrain Station we've had since the Expo Line (and even the at-grade stations on the Expo Line are partially below-grade), which is kind of interesting.
Inlet Centre: Another unique design, caused by topography and the desires of the community I guess. The station houses look like mini Templeton Stations, and seem to have more mass than the other canopies on the Evergreen Line. I think this one too will look great, but I am curious to find out how the below-grade parts of the station will look.
Burquitlam, Coquitlam Centre and Lincoln: These are all carbon copies of Marine Drive Station, aside from the 40m extension past the escalator areas. I guess this is because all three have the exact same station context/placement (in terms of surrounding roads), are fully elevated, and have side platforms. It's kind of too bad, but like people discussed before, this design is efficient and effective. At least some of the entrance features are distinct.
Lafarge Lake - Douglas: Lastly, the station with the unfortunate name, and to go with it, the unfortunate design. As it is an island platform (terminus stations often are), I guess they couldn't just do another Burquitlam, so they decided on something even less inspiring. I'm not sure if they ran out of money after deciding to add Lincoln Station or what, but it seems like the designers chose the cheapest looking (flat?) canopy and threw on some glass walls around the station and called it a day. I'm hoping there will be some updates to this one, because as of right now, it will be the Bridgeport of the Evergreen Line.
In all honesty though, no matter the end design, i just can't wait for the day I can ride it and check out the stations in person. I'm so happy it was changed to Skytrain and we got legit platform lengths. No more toy stations!
