I saw one of the partners (Seth?) for a while at Cucina Asellina, even months after DL closed. Speaking of Japan, I bought a Uniqlo corduroy jacket there once...it was the only Uniqlo on the rack, maybe the only Uniqlo in the entire metro! There's a brand that doesn't seem to be doing as well in America as they hoped, either.

It was a dismal failure. It was tiny (1,000 or 1,500 SF) and it was open for maybe a month or a few at most. Chattanooga was a horrible market for them (reasonably...a small market that can't even get a lot of middle market nationals let alone an upper mid-market Atlanta boutique [that city is not friendly towards Atlanta businesses or the city in general])...they were planning Atlantic Station pop-up and then ~5 year store thereafter around the same time, and never even pursued (they could not pay freight at basically any of their locations, especially Chattanooga, for the life of them due to poor sales)...I was a shopper and happened to like their selection and store, but they did not do well anywhere. It was an attempt on the part of LL (Jamestown in both Midtown and Chattanooga) and tenant. The relationship did not work out well.

It was after Katrina. Denim's great, but it will be helpful to themselves from a "shrinkage" and break-in standpoint if they don't become known for casual wear and instead focus on well cut dress-up/dress-down clothing for standard yuppies, while offering casual wear on the side and away from windows.
