Pending a signed contract, the Falcons picked the team of Arizona-based Hunt Construction and Atlanta-based Holder Construction to build a planned new $1 billion stadium in Atlanta, according to Atlanta Business Chronicle sister publication Street & Smith’s Sports Business Daily. The decision was made Friday, the publication reported Monday.
“We have not finalized negotiations yet. We expect that to be (this) week,” said Falcons Chief Financial Officer Greg Beadles. Hunt's stadium portfolio includes Busch Stadium, Citi Field, Lucas Oil Stadium, Marlins Park, Nationals Park and University of Phoenix Stadium. The Falcons’ project will be the 15th NFL stadium Hunt has constructed over the past two decades.
In Atlanta, Holder’s projects include the new World of Coca-Cola, The Mansion on Peachtree, Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center at Technology Square and Cox Enterprises’ corporate headquarters.
