We get it, Migs, you'll defend Rob Ford to any level of absurdity because he's the little man with common sense up against the big bad left wing media and all the elites. It's all very simple, just common sense, really.

Seems like trolling to me, and it's really tiresome, so knock it off.

How is it ignorant? Where is the video? Sorry but the Toronto Star is a joke and is a punchline outside of Toronto. If ever you are in need of one of their reporters, go look in the trash can behind Rob Ford's house, they'll be sifting through the garbage.

We get it, you've said your piece.

Now seriously, knock it off unless you have something new to bring to the discussion.

I'll tell you right now I am no fan of Rob Ford at all (because of his want to bring the NFL to Toronto), just trying to give you guys a point of view from outside because I recognize a witch hunt when I see one. It is what it is, this was obviously a manufactured story and people now are trying to convince themselves its still true.

Are you not offended by the title of this thread? Tell me, what is the opposite of "cracker"

It's either "someone who doesn't smoke crack", or cheese. Depends on the context. Considering this is about (alleged) crack smoking, I think it's pretty clear.

Give me a break. Since when is a person who smokes crack called a "cracker"?

I have to wonder if the word "cracker" might be a poor choice of words here, as the supposed video showed Ford, a white guy, smoking crack with a bunch of black guys. I've also never heard a crackhead refered to as a "cracker" before.

Looking up urbandictionary, I can't find a single correlation between a cracker and a crackhead.

What I find:

1. Floridian cowboys, predating western cowboys, who used whips instead of lassos as they drove cattle through brush.

2. A person who breaks into locked down spaces like safes or information systems.

3. A loud, boisterous person.

3a. A class epithet against the poor, white folk in the American South.

4. A white person in the American South, as refered to by the black folks.

5. A person who abuses nitrous oxides. (Closest example I found.)

6. Something that is excellent, as used by the British.

7. Something fun, as used by the Northern Irish.

8. Someone who abuses a combination of drugs including crack cocaine. (69th definition with one thumb up.)

Sweet lord, these people have never heard of puns before.

Next up: picking apart when I facetiously use "interwebs", because such a term doesn't really exist.

That's right. I've never heard of it before, and it doesn't seem to be a common term in the english language around these parts. You make it sound likes it should be a given when it's not.

I composed the title. It was witty. A real cracker is something good. You'll notice the pun. I even put exclamation points around "cracker" to nudge the pun out some more.

This needs to be explained? And where on earth does racism come into it?

Now the Sun, on the other hand...

It wasn't witty, it was disgusting and offensive. Quit playing stupid.

Either you're a bigger troll then you obviously are, or I'm missing something. I'm guessing the former.

Edit: Facepalms all around. "Cracker" apparently means "poor white" in the U.S. south. You learn something every day. Why would you assume that that obscure meaning for "cracker" was what I meant in the context of the mayor of Toronto? Are you from Alabama or something?

Newsflash: Ford isn't poor, and he isn't from the southern U.S.

That's what I assumed, as the term is hardly obscure. I suppose we'd use "trailer trash" more often but "cracker" carries a lot of baggage, at least in some parts.

On the other hand, I thought the tread title was a bit amusing.....

Ford is a total d-bag, but what is funny is that he will emerge from this relatively unscathed, run for re-election and most likely win again.
