Yes... My take on what was presented:

Nothing official yet, of course, just pre-planning at this point. They said rezoning application with all details is supposed to be with city (and posted on city's website) in about a month.

The poster boards had four 15-storey buildings, a fifth building closest to Science World that would be 18 stories. This is 3 over the community plan limit so they'd need special approval for that apparently. And some park space between the buildings and the seawall & the existing Int'l Village buildings to the west.

Proposed time line of one year for rezoning (starting in one month when the rezoning application is submitted), then one year of more planning and pre-sales of some units and construction in 2015.

Former Burger King on Main street is now Main Street Grill

All Burger King logos, etc have been removed.

Quebec Street side

Some change at Main Street Burger King location. BK is out of there and now another restaurant operating there apparently. Who knows what is happening and how long this new restaurant will be there??? Guess BK didn't want to stick around.

Uh oh, no more Whopper Wednesdays. Well, unless you go to their Granville and Robson location. Or Hastings by the Pne. Or Metrotown. Or Lougheed Mall, etc.

Also they are thinking of 3 phases, starting with the buildings at the corner of 1st Ave and Quebec. Phase 2 would be the buildings west of Phase 1 and adjacent to the proposed park. Phase 3 would include the tallest tower closest to Science World.

Development of the park is up to the city, but the Concert rep said it will probably be created at the same time as Phase 2.

Funny how after all the development that has happened and is currently going on there are still so many concrete wasteland zones.

Thank goodness for Concert moving on theirs! (Between Olympic village and Science World)

Trying to start construction on that one before the residents of Opsal get a chance to complain about their views being blocked?

Thanks for the update! It's neat to see all the green roofs, including those on Wall Centre. From this angle, Wall Centre looks surprisingly consistent with the rest of the neighbourhood.

The view from Main Street Skytrain Stn. is pretty cool.

At the corner amid road-work I noticed something going on.
Soil remediation? Are there plans for this plot at the moment?

Pics by me taken May 31.

I heard Concord bought this lot. It looks like another garden similar to the one put between the Plaza of Nations site and the Concord display building to the east of that.

year ago, sales rep for the central said that the view for the residential side facing the creek and possibly the skybridge will only be visible for 3 years

Public Gardens/Community Gardens on developer properties allows developers to reduce property taxes through incentives and subsidies.

One parcel further north (McDonald's site) and it'd be views forever.
But the Central suites should still get a good view angled towards Science World.

The planters are for a new urban orchard. Here's a story about it:

Thanks!
Huge manhole cover, given it's on the roof (wonder how big the pipe below it is?).

Great shots, Delirium! Those roofs look so inviting...
