I heard something about them imploding a portion of the structure.

Any confirmations on that?

Looks like such a homely structure now that the bottom tier is gone. Will be glad to see the new stadium in operation!

Could possibly be for the concrete upper-deck ramps.

I was thinking the same. Those seem pretty beefy to nibble away at.

awesomes pics! i drove by the old site this morning. looks odd without the old fences etc around that lot.

as for IG field, the sounds system defintely works! i can hear it clear as day from my apartment on pembina hwy. i thought a car pulled up below my balcony

The one thing that I noticed in this image is that you cannot see the corner of the end zone from that vantage point. I would assume that the identical seats in the other corners of the stadium would also have this issue. Not really a huge deal, but I figured that it would be something worth pointing out if it has not been pointed out by someone else already.

There's another image posted on here that shows the same. Difficulty seeing the endzone corners. That's concerning....

I see no reason to be concerned about that. How much "action" are you missing without seeing those few feet? Pretty much nothing.

If this is our biggest "viewpoint" concern, we are laughing.

They were doing a full-systems sound test at about 12:10pm. Sounds pretty good!

Wow, Nitpick much? Have a look at what they are building for stadiums in Ottawa and Hamilton then come back and complain about a couple feet in the end zone ???

I have to say, my first thought was that this statement is being a little nit-picky as well but when you think about it this is a true design flaw. This is a new stadium, design and all, not an upper deck addition where it is understandable. With a new design, from scratch, there should be NO restricted views anywhere. This is where the shortcomings of not using a STADIUM DESIGNER as the architect.

Having said that, i am not complaining about the new stadium and i am one of its biggest boosters. It will be a great venue to watch football in and great for the City.

Nitpick much? No! Spending $200M on a stadium with bad sightlines. Awesome.

I'm like Biff, a big supporter of the stadium. Season ticket holder for the foreseeable future, basically life. I wouldn't want to be sitting in those seats when there's a huge catch for the Grey Cup or something.

Basically see Biff's comment for my opinion on that.

You can't see the corner of the end zone! How on earth do you get something like that wrong? Didn't the engineers pass grade 9 geometry?

are u seriously complaining u cant see 3 percent of the field.. and that being the corner endzone.. come on man for real??? have ppl in wpg ever been to other stadiums or arenas or concerts.. if u wanna see everything get better seats.... cant see the corner endzone cry me a river..

it prolly a 20 dollar ticket.. upper deck yet u still feel so close to the action.... quit crying... u want good sightline get a better seat.. get out more winnipegers get our more... experience other stadiums arenas.. upperdeck seats corner seats always have bad sight lines..
