Great, I always wondered about those. There is a shift in the city and I love the direction its going. And Its good to see more midtown and downtown investments. I wonder if the developer happen to be married to the owner of wings on Airport?

The announcement of Whole Foods at Pinebrook Shopping Center reaffirms Airport Boulevard as one of south Alabama's principal commercial districts. Hopefully, surrounding shopping centers will see this as a catalyst for renovation and attracting newer retailers.

Yes, there was a palpable shift since the Airbus announcement and this seems to only be the beginning.

As for the developer, they are not related.

You are right. I am under the impression that several shopping centers will be "upgrading" over the next year or so, with the WeMo Airport/Schillinger center being one example.

I hope this leads to better retail in Midtown/Downtown.

It appears that Mobile has been chosen? Wording on AL.com has changed from Mobile being on the short list to the company "intending" to construct the plant in Mobile.

It looks pretty likely that Mobile was chosen, but we'll see if they clear all the enviro-hurdles necessary for safe operation...

Baldwin - 25.8% (up from 25.6% in 2010) - future MSA 190,790
Washington - 38.0% (up from 20.6% in 2010) - future MSA 17,109
Clarke - 12.2% (down from 13.4% in 2010) - excluded
Escambia (AL) - 11.2% (up from 9.0% in 2010) - excluded
Monroe - 9.7% (up from 9.4% in 2010) - excluded

If Baldwin was already above 25% in 2010 why wasn't it already added to the MSA?
