Just wanted to share a cool shot I took a couple of days ago. This is from Union and Quebec. I just love how with the curve of the street you can see Central sticking out, and Collection 45 in the distance.

The colour is a little off, I manipulated the settings so that Collection 45 was noticeable in the background.

It is bustling around these parts. I didn't take any shots of the almost finished buildings along 1st ave., as not much has changed.
They have been doing mostly clean-up and finishing work.

Lido

Meccanica

your 1st pic is LIDO by BOSA

the one you label as "Pinnacle" is actually THE ONE by Pinnacle

Wall Centre False Creek today.

(looking west)

(looking east)

The lighting and workers made it impractical to get a good shot looking into the theatre space, but it's looking really good.

The pics show how ugly that green-tinted yellow painted concrete really is, especially in combination with the purple and the colours on the other towers.

Yay. Another cookie-cutter building in a neighbourhood that's become as monotonous as Marinaside.

While the Pinnacle buildings pretty much define the term cookie-cutter the Olympic Village itself will keep this neighbourhood from being monotonous all by itself, not to mention Onni's Central building. I also think James is quite a handsome building (probably biased because I live there) and I believe Meccanica will turn out well.

Has there been any further development on the brew pub? Looks like nothing is happening at all in that space and "summer 2013" is quickly approaching. I'm guessing they are still battling it out over licensing issues.

Was at tap and barrel a few weeks back and they were looking for an extension of service hours.

I chatted with Craft Beer Market not too long ago and they said given the delays in permitting they won't hit June but are hoping for July/August (aka post-Stampede). That being said, they'll need to get busy ASAP!

Note Craft has remained active on their FB page for the Vancouver restaurant and is even sponsoring the Craft Beer Week Opening Night Gala.

interesting.

I wonder if they would eventually walk from the space if they keep having permitting issues.

I believe they have all permits. {Except for various final building permits}. The delays were previous and those delays put them a little behind the gun since their original Craft is in Calgary and Stampede's profits will seriously help the running of this location.

Awesome!

I just hope they remember to maintain the ROW needed for the Streetcar.

So happy to see that it's Concert developing this site instead of Pinnacle or Wall, this should result in superior design and materials and tie in nicely with the quality of The Village in this key and very visible location.

I was gunning for Concert or Cressy so great news!

There goes the Racer's Village area for the Dragon Boat Festival - back to the other side of False Creek by the Concord presentation centre I guess....
