Add $750 a month for food/entertainment/other expenses to get to $3300 a month and that ends up being $39600 a year. Thats not incredibly cheap but you certainly don't need a job that pays amazingly well to afford that. Its not ridiculous

Trick question, you can't get a 35 year mortgage anymore.

Although a good discussion, I thought this was to be moved to Western Expresso. Or somewhere else.

You seriously do need a financial adviser... You can't get a 30 year mortgage on a CMHC insured mortgage, 35K down on $320,000 is not enough of a down payment to qualify for a 30 year amortization.

Double trick question? You can only get a 30 year amo if you put 20% down.

Back to a semi construction note. Theres a crane up by the new police headquarters.

What's the crane peaking out between Fort Garry Place and 33 Hargrave? Waterfront drive?

That last photo posted would be an excellent template for a future skyline render.

Good Morning,
I've been a long time lurker here on the Winnipeg construction Forum and finally decided to register.
Wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your posting and updates. they are often informative and interesting.
Although I wasn't born in Winnipeg I've lived here since 1984 and really do love my city. All the new development, and proposed development makes it feel like a very exciting time for us. Winnipeg for me has always been somewhat of a "grand old lady", and the feeling of a renaissance in development is welcome indeed.
Thank you so much for your contributions

Yeah, fantastic photo, Wigglez, thank you for sharing that. Such a perspective makes Winnipeg look more built up than the views I typically see. For those of us not intimately familiar with Peg's skyline, is that facing northeast from Corydon/Osbourne area?

Corydon west of Daly I believe. Great photo.

Photo I took of the Hearld from this week. Background image is of the City East Yards redevelopment.

North is to the right. Plessis running along the bottom of the page, CEMR Railway Pine Falls Sub on the right of the page. Kildare extension running up the centre.

Appears to be a fairly dense proposal. 3, 6, 9, storey buildings. Even looks like a 20 storey.

Edit: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/growing-pains-207035281.html

Article explaining how density is critical. I think this type of development is exactly that.

Its taken from the 6th floor of the MTS building on corydon. I'm glad you all like it! I'll try to take another one on a more cheerful day, hopefully with some leaves on all of those trees.
