It's getting there. As much as the city has grown in the past few years, the big push hasn't happened yet:

As far as 500ft+ buildings go, the Toronto skyline might triple in size over the next 3-4 years.

i was thrilled to see that the most beautiful and most inclusive area of the downtown business district of memphis was submitted. it has so many beautiful buildings and so much charm, and i was glad the one taken from the hernando-desoto bridge, from a car window, was sibmitted. kingchef

People who know what its population is?

Imagine if downtown LA had skyscrapers at a similar population-to-highrise ratio as say... DT Calgary. Or even DT San Diego or DT San Fran for that matter.

I don't know, I think L.A. has an impressive skyline. Some of the architecture leaves something to be desired, but in terms of the bulk of its central skyline it's fine.

The architecture of LA skyscrapers is quite good, imo. It's also a skyline spared from a sea of green glassed condos. I'd take an LA skyscraper over a green glassed condo any day of the week.

LA just lacks the concentration of skyscrapers. It's spread out. Downtown, Wilshire, Koreatown, Century City, UCLA, Hollywood. It has "mini" skylines all over.
