Cityplace has one more block to fill before the sales office site. The first phase of that block, Lumen, has disappeared from all marketing outlets. The Signature site may still be years away.

So did I. They're far better than anything currently in City Place with the possible exception of the mixed income condo building.
It's social housing owned by Toronto Community Housing with rent geared to income rates.

Lumen has been cancelled, so I expect concord to either launch the 18 floor building on the Lumen block first, then relaunch Lumen with a different design and name, and then the Signature block. (possibly in two phases)

Hallelujah, it's not another cookie cutter all glass tower. Looks like developers are finally getting the message.

How hilarious would it be if, when the full render is released, that part shown above is the only non-glass part and the rest is just some spandrel and window-wall — box? I'd laugh. I doubt that will be the case though

It would be like pouring salt in the wound. Let's just say I'd need to go on vacation for a little while to calm down.

Update on Ten York:

It should be clearer by the end of May how sales of projects launched so far this year are doing, but early indications are that first-time buyers are looking again, especially in the 416 region, says Jim Ritchie, vice-president of Tridel, which hopes to start construction on its Ten York project by the end of 2013 and has sold 620 of the building's 694 units.

I think of all of Toronto's projects, I have been following this proposal the least. I can't recall its approval status; however, I am wondering if there is still an organised voice of opposition toward this development due to its height?

Then again, I suppose, Ten York is joined in company by 1 York in terms of height being established so close to the waterfront. Aside from blocking out the CN Tower and the Financial District for various eastern view sites of the downtown, Torontonians on the numerous skyscraper forums seem happy about these projects.

I must admit, though, I do appreciate a 'slope' in a skyline, in which buildings closer to the waterfront are more humble in their height. I would need to see an updated rendering to see what these tall towers do, visually, from the view points in question.

Ten York has been approved. You can see such an updated rendering on page 33 of the Final Report: http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2012/te/bgrd/backgroundfile-51448.pdf

Ten York looks pretty —. Not as innovative a design as was previously hoped, but certainly not bad! How exciting! Toronto could have ten 200+ meter UCs by December!... though Ice II and L Tower will be off the list by then probably... so maybe 8. Still not bad

Would that translate into 11 total for Canada if Ice II and L aren't finished?

Yeah, if Ten York, 88 Scott, Massey Tower and Herald Square all manage to start before L Tower and Ice come off the list. Don't forget that Massey Tower and 88 Scott need to do some demolition before they can even start digging.
