Apparently the plan is for the cantilevered section to go up tomorrow, weather permitting.

It will be interesting to watch on the webcam!

yeah I took my son down at lunch to watch the crane put up Judith's new walk-in shoe closet (just throwing one in there for ya Keith, hope you like it LOL).

Pretty cool to see it going up! It is actually quite visible from surprisingly far up SGR.

I hope the yellow floor in the pictures is just clear and the rest is blacked out except for a clear cantilever roof.

The window supplier has had to recall all the units built & delivered so far, some sort of issue with the coating. They are allegedly re-manufacturing the entire order. Delays of about 2 weeks are estimated.

Thanks for the updates.

I'm curious about how this looks from different angles -- along Spring Garden Road, down Queen Street, or from the Citadel. The view looking north along Queen Street will also be quite different once the new apartment building is up.

Andy Fillmore posted this interesting perspective of the library a few months ago on Twitter (it's probably in this thread somewhere). Maybe he'll post an update at some point now that the frame of the building is completed. I find a lot of these shots of new buildings going up give a bit of perspective on how many prime corridors in Halifax are under-built.

There are some new towers in this view but shorter buildings like the library have also filled a lot of little gaps.
