Should have happened decades ago. This will be a boon for Hamilton. The train currently only goes as far as Aldershot, right?

rush hour service goes to hamilton, but all day 2 way currently only travels to aldershot.

After visiting Ottawa this past March what struck me is the overall standard in buildings in that city. It's definitely a step up from what one sees elsewhere. Maybe its due to Ottawa's wealth and it being the national capital, but there seems to be more attention to details, quality materials, colour choices, beauty, etc.

You see brick where one expects to see vinyl siding, nicer pavement, even their bus shelters were nicer than the usual concrete bunker one gets elsewhere.

A lot of people in Ottawa would be shocked to hear you say that. Most people here think other cities are leaps and bounds ahead of us when it comes to building design. The parliament buildings and some of our other older buildings are amazing, but Ottawa has its share of low quality buildings. Fortunately, the development industry is becoming more and more competitive in Ottawa so builders can't get away with low quality design as much as they could in the past. The quality of design for new proposals outside of the parliamentary precinct has improved drastically since I moved here almost 4 years ago.

Which part of Ottawa were you visiting?

Not saying there isn't anything nice in Ottawa, but there's definitely a lot of ugly. The Transit Way is almost entirerly concrete bunkers and the regular stops are pretty standard from what I've seen.

Ive flown into Ottawa but never visited yet. Must put this on the list as well as Quebec city and Halifax.

And that one is a couple years old even (2007/08?). Finally pulling the trigger on marketing and pre-sales.
