Yup. The tower on the right will end up looking about the same height, if not slightly taller, than First Canadian Place from that angle, and will form a new peak in the skyline as seen from the islands.

That picture makes it look like there are only 4 towers under construction in Toronto. Of course there is more stuff going on behind the scenes.

However if these 4 were all we were getting back in 2002 or 2003, I would have taken it!

It will be weird seeing the skyline when it doesn't have any cranes in it (if and when that ever happens). At any given time, so much of the city is a construction zone.

Ice II is going to make a huge impact on the skyline especially from the island. I am excited to see it once it's done.

Yeah man, agreed. Harbour Plaza will look pretty sweet from that angle as well! I hated the initial design/massing of it, but if built in their current incarnation, it should look pretty awesome!

The great thing about the Toronto skyline is that there are so many unique angles it can be taken from. Since the buildings stretch along such a long distance, from the Etobicoke lakeshore across the Gardener and right up Yonge St, then the North York skyline. It's literally impossible to capture all of Toronto's highrises in one shot. I would still say my favorite shot is from the island because I think the water really adds to any skyline. Ice I and II will add to this angle as will Ten York, L Tower, and many others. I don't know how much One Bloor and the Holt Renfrew Tower will, I am guessing you would have to on the mainland rather than the island.

Yeah I agree with the water thing. My favorite shots of Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Quebec, and Halifax all have their waterfronts in the foreground. I love aerial photos of Edmonton with the massive river valley in the foreground too, that place is beautiful. However, my favorite shots of Montreal are actually from the mountain, and I like Winnipeg from any angle.

As a pre-supertall gameplan for the Toronto skyline viewed from the lake, I would like to see 30-60 new towers in that shot, with a range from between 350 feet to 600 feet, that way there is some urban texture there for Oxford Place and One Yonge to contrast with when they are built. Give it some far east stylez!

I'm not 100 percent sure if there are even 60 towers under proposal for that part of the city, but Harbour Plaza, One Yonge, and Oxford Place already give you 10, so really you just need another 50 more short towers in the 300-500 foot range to make the perfect backdrop to the bad boys currently being proposed.

I'm not sure what specific area you're referring to, but between Liberty Village and One Yonge there are 19 proposals over 75 meters, with 14 currently under construction. Plus, in the blocks bounded by University, Adelaide, Spadina, and Front, there are another 19 proposed, with another 10 currently UC. So I think you'll probably get your wish.

Yes, that's it. Everything South of Richmond between Bathurst and Yonge. (I'll even take a few of those proposals to the east of Yonge, cause those are getting pretty tall too)

Water does add a lot to the whole impression, but the view from the northwest allows one to see almost the entire skyline... all be it from quite a distance.

Almost looks more like two distinct skylines. That area is really springing up. It's going to be impressive when Aura and One Bloor are done.
