Sounds more like the Sears Clearance Store at Lougheed, than Nordstrom Rack. I think Nordstrom Rack has a lot of new merchandise.
HBC used to own Designer Depot.. which served this purpose. They sold it.. and now it sells off label —.
"Designer Depot is Canadian department store that sells brand names at prices 25–60% below regular department and specialty store prices. It was created in November 2004 as a division of retailer Hudson's Bay Company (HBC). It was sold by HBC in April 2008 to the INC Group of Companies."
POLICE in West Vancouver are on the lookout for thieves with sartorial flair after someone cut a hole in the roof of a Park Royal department store and tried to make off with over $100,000 worth in high-end fashion.
does target open this week in BC? looks like some of the alberta stores are opening this weekend or next week
i went by the store in grande prairie friday and it said from what i could read in passing from my car that it was sorry but it would not be oprning may 4th as originally scheduled... and sounds like most of the edmonton stores are ready to open
i went to lord and taylor last month in new york the store itself seemed a little dull and boring, reminded me of the bay a few years ago, but they had renderings up for the mens floor which is being redone - it looks a lot like the vancouver store, mens dept. cool to see vancouver taking the lead over new york
Visited the Best Buy and Marshalls at 26 SW Marine Drive last night - it's a pretty miserable retail complex. The distances are so far (across the parking garage) that there's no connection between the stores at all (even on the top level)
My opinion is the the project was built that way on purpose, it'll be used as retail for ~25yrs long enough to pay for itself and then probably reapply for upzoning as a mixed used project to include residential and it'll be an easier sell as the current development is substandard.
